Health Education

Urban decay and fast-food dependence have damaged our community with escalated sickness, drug and alcohol abuse, and obesity. The Nutrition and Physical Education Project is designed to provide access to healthy nutrition on-site as well as to educate individuals from historical food desert regions in Chicago on the many benefits of properly balanced and healthy diets. They are informed on the latest in health information, sex education, drug prevention, and in formulating fitness objectives. The program supports: meal plans, participation in our “Walk It Off – Keep It Off” local support and activities and, implementing strategies for healthy cooking and eating, as well as motivating participants by introducing them to role models that have inspired millions of athletes in the world of sports.
