Fund a Program
Often times, people are reluctant to give because they don’t know where their donation is going. Fund a program allows donors to choose where their dollars go. You can specifically select an already existing program or donate to a specific need. Community involvement is key to the success of our children.

Fitness and Sports
These fitness activities provided opportunities that improved children’s health, wellness, and self-esteem. In the summer, a sports instructors facilitated sports and fitness activities for 50 children ages 6 to 14 at Hamilton Park District.

Youth engaged in physical fitness activities for seven weeks, from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 11:00 am. 25 youth competed in the truck and running competition organized by World Sports Chicago throughout the summer and worn seven medals of which four were bronze and three gold medals.
Mentoring and Tutoring
This project provided after-school tutoring and mentoring throughout the school year for 50 children, 6- and 7-year-old girls and boys. Every Monday and Wednesday, 3 to 5 pm, COV staff with the support of other partners such as Student interns from University of Illinois at Chicago College of Education and Student Learner’s from DePaul University operated the program.

Girls and boys were provided a safe space which enabled themget homework help, exercise, and discussed topics which were important to them, such as self-image, self respect, health and relationships with others, received tutoring in math and English/reading.
